STORY
Years into a brutal lockdown, a once-thriving city lies in ruins, abandoned by its government and overrun by vicious, mindless infected. Those left behind are treated as human waste, discarded in a world that no longer cares. The government enforces the quarantine with ruthless precision, sending hazmat teams into the city to kill anyone who remains—infected or not—in an effort to contain the outbreak and secure something far more dangerous hidden within the city.
You play as Sam, a former urban planner, one of the few left alive. With intimate knowledge of the city’s crumbling infrastructure, Sam must navigate both the decaying streets above and the dangerous underground—a maze of trash-filled sewers, forgotten tunnels, and abandoned subways. But no matter where you go, danger awaits. The infected roam mindlessly, bandits hunt survivors, and government hazmat teams sweep through, eliminating anyone in their path as they carry out their deadly mission. Every step brings you closer to escape… or to your end.

Holy god, this was fantastic. The atmosphere is perfect, the enemy models are great, the sound design is very well done, the guns actually have weight behind them when fired, the gore is wonderfully gooey both in visual and audio. The one single thing I can suggest be improved is MAKE MORE OF THIS! Can't wait for the full release!

I love love LOVE these kinds of retro-style shooters and DEAD TRASH is easily one of the coolest ones I've ever played. As someone mentioned below, the axe could use some work on it's timing and swing speed but otherwise I'm not sure I would change much else. You did a remarkable job creating this considering Easy FPS Editor is notoriously janky.

Great start, I just completed it. I did have to have a few starts but then found it easier. A few things I noticed: I would add a little color to some of the pickups to give some contrast. I was unable to map anything to my mouse as in: I always use M2 for jump in fps games. I am unsure if this is because there is no jump yet but it seemed to not take mouse at all for remap. The machine gun ammo also seemed bugged.
That said- I loved the setting and the enemies. I found the pistol most useful and the axe disappointingly useless. Great game! Especially in the short development time. I look forward to the next version!

Yes, the machine gun shot and behaved as expected but the ammo seemed to not deplete at all and then when I really laid on the trigger it depleted very slowly. (not a bad thing when you're knee deep in maniacal garbage creatures, just thought you should know!)
On the axe, my personal opinion is that perhaps it doesn't need much of a tweak? I like it when you have to learn what weapons work and what weapons do not work in a game. Doesn't mean that one should be broken completely but they all shouldn't be OP either. Let me know if you need any help with the game. I can't code but I can write and test. ))

I think the axe need tweak in form of attack timing and damage. Its not any fun as it is right now.

how long did it take to code ?
Im using Easy Fps Editor 🙂 But there is alot of custom "coding" in it. It was made under 2 weeks for a gamejam. Working on a bigger and better version now

It's been a long time since I've played an FPS so profoundly dense in its atmosphere. The rollercoaster-ride progression from gutter trash to SMG wielding commando was incredible. I would love to see this extended into a full-length release. Also, is there any way to listen to the OST from this game?

Great stuff, the shoothing feels great, I really can see this style working amazingly in an action/stealth game.
Okay, I replayed it but gave myself "infinite" ammo (999 bullets) and I can confirm that the shooting feels super good and the game really really works if played like a slow paced cop-simualtor, cleaning corners and such. Super fun, and the visual style is 10/10.

Action packed, bloody adventure with the best shooting I've experience for a while now - phenomenal game!
I highly recommend everyone to check this one out. My only huge complaint is that the game was over during the mid section and I wanted to venture more. The music, the environment, the enemies are brilliantly designed, everything was top notch!

Really enjoyed the game.
Overall it's almost not scary, BUT
The beginning of the game felt like a survival horror game and it was great. Then the game turned into a normal shooter, but for the first 5-8 minutes I was getting high.
I NEVER thought it was possible to make such cool weapons on this engine. Great levelling design, great combat system. It's awesome!!!
